Studio Day1

Today we were lucky enough to get the opportunity to get to record at Big Rock Recording with engineer Steve Schneider; we recorded pretty much everything for Device.. minus the vocals. Also we got an alright practice in with our extra time in the studio… We’re looking forward to our first show tomorrow night at CafĂ© Racer.

News Flash... Eric got a knife pulled on him...

by two year old named Phoebe... no big deal

Anyway today we had the van blessed by Toni's mom. She's ready, now she just needs a name...

Next we met up with Toni's good friend Steve from Hawaii, he's pretty freakin rad...
Steve took us to Trading Musician to trade Toni's old amp in and get a throne and ride stand..
then he invited us to a bbq... and then took us into town to have ice cream at Molly Moon's...
and then took us to Kerry Park for an amazing view of the city.
Tomorrow we get to record at Steve's Studio... Big Rock Studio.

Shirts Man ,Shirts

Portland,,, ooooops... it wasn't until we arrived in Portland on Saturday that Grey discovered that Minus the Bear played the night before... so we made the best of it... honestly we had a rad rad time,,, we met up with our friend Austin who gave us the royal tour... taking us to a huge farmers market, then to Voodoo Donuts while kicking it with the KISS Army, then on to the Rose Festival drinking Dead Guy Ales on the waterfront and a killer little music shop... we took a break from the city with a mad game of ultimate frisbee at the park and then a walk about Portland to grab grub at Chipotle (toni's first) and then to catch some of the night life.
Overall Portland was amazing, minus the fact that no business trusts anyone to use the bathroom, we can't wait until next Wednesday. Thank you Austin and Erica!

On another note, collectively we're itching to play music... the reason we have so many prep days was because initially we were planning to go to the Sasquatch festival but the closer it got, realized that it was a bit too much money then we cared to spend at the very begining of tour... so instead of having 3 prep days and 3 festival day, we're stuck in limbo with 6 prep days,,, hopefully we'll get a quick practice tomorrow at Toni's friends place.

In other news we got pins and shirts and Luca Young agreed to master our tracks before the tour so that we have something to give some peeps. Thank you times a billion Luca!

Day 2 - Prep

No van yet... round two of searching... our idea for the perfect chariot became a bit more refined by yesterday afternoon; coming across

-an orange straight 6 beast with mossy shag carpet and a captains porthole

- a grey 1989 luxury high roofed conve
rsion van

- a siiick white GMC with programable led lights and a rear bench that conve
rts into a full size bed

not finding the right van yesterday wasn't a bit disheartening, we actually got pretty lucky in that we found everything we need to play...

For Eric: a siiick drumset we named ursula

For Toni: a nice ampeg amp with wheels named Big Foot

and for Grey: a tiny tiny 200w ZT acoustic amp (which we have second feelings about)... named little wing

Today we put em to the test and go for round 2 of van shopping.. both hands fingers crossed!
